Ensure students with disabilities access to the full range of General Education’s Curricular Options and Learning Experiences with transition service provision greater access to general education curriculum and assessment systems.
- since general education curriculum assesses students academically, pwd has given limited or no attention
- possibility of narrowing of curriculum and instruction for focus on content and concentrate on areas of weaknesses
- thus effort should be taken to ensure that students with disabilities should stay in full curriculum
- IEP team should see to it that high expectations are maintained to meet vocational education, service learning, community work experience and adult living skills
Strategies:
- Promote high expectations for student achievements and learning (IEP)
- Making appropriate use of assessment and instructional accommodation
- Ensure that students have access to the full access to general education curriculum - inclusion
