Ensure students to access a full participation in postsecondary education, employment and independent living opportunities.
Based on research, young adults with disabilities face difficulty in
- securing a job
- access to post secondary education and
- living independently
- fully participating in the community
Intervention:
Include in the secondary education preparation and opportunities to
- understand themselves
- understand their disability in relation to needed services and support
- focus on advocating for their needs in different post school education (employment setting)
Strategies:
- Develop effective models of assistance and support that are personally responsive, flexible, and individualized
- Coordinate and manage post secondary education supports and services agencies

- Ensure that the education and training students acquire in the secondary level is transferable to post educational plans and eventually employment.
- Community service agency accommodate young adults with disabilities
- Promote collaborative employer commitment
- Establish partnership with placement agencies
