What is UNRATTLES pedagogy?... soon...

Rationale of the Study

There is a concept that seemed to be absent amidst the debate and deliberation on whether Nursery Rhymes is still useful, relevant and contributory to the curriculum of early literacy. When one mentions Nursery Rhymes, the very first things that come into mind are Children and Language Skills. Although there are very few educators and parents who would sing Nursery Rhymes to their children, not one of them have ever included a hint that they ever used these to teach other skills other than Language.

This paper joins the unheard voice of the advocates to revive Nursery Rhymes as a teaching tool, but yet to enhance its resurface with a progressive design to teach other skills other than language and reading.

Others may have, in a certain way, used Nursery Rhymes to teach a child how to brush his teach. They may admit that it is not the main objective but an accidental tool to teach practical life skills. Therefore this paper will incline us to focus on the details of the procedures and teaching method to utilize Nursery Rhymes as a teaching tool particularly in specific skill acquisition like cognitive, social, emotional, behavioural and motor skills.[1]
