Students : Children with Mental Retardation (Grade 2 Level)
Goal : At the end of the month, the children should be able to write a
“Short Fairy Tale”
Objectives : At the end of every activity, the students should be able to :
1. spell accurately
2. properly use “period” (.) and “exclamation point” (!) as end punctuations
3. correctly use past tense forms of regular and irregular verbs
4. use words appropriately with variety within the context
5. put together and express his ideas in sentences.
Teaching Aids : (Teaching Strategies)
1. Noun flashcards, proper noun strips, noun pictures
2. Regular verb dice, irregular verbs roulette
3. Sight words cards
4. Punctuation lollipops
5. Sentence Strips, Fairy Tale Story Chart
Materials :
1. Bristol Board charts shaped like: Crystal Ball, Palace, Shield
2. Colorful pictures of Nouns & Verbs
3. Adhesive Tapes, Tap dispensers
4. Chalk, Pandora’s Box, Graphic Organizers,
5. Strips of Yellow board, Markers
Procedures : Teacher demonstrates the procedure as verbally instructed and
explained to the students, Teacher provides all kinds of prompts as
necessary: verbal directions, pointing to the clues or right answer
